Super Mario Movie Review

On April 5th the new Super Mario Movie was released and many people had mixed reviews. Here is my summary and take:
The movie started with Mario and his brother Luigi in their plumbing career. Their parents are disappointed in them but they still want to continue their business. One night the city has pipe burst and Mario and Luigi go to fix it. While they are underneath the city, they accidently find a portal to another world. They go through it, and Luigi goes to a different world than Mario who goes to the Mushroom Kingdome.

When Mario lands, he finds out his brother has landed in the Dark Words and instantly wants to go get him. After he finds this out he goes to meet the Princess. At first he is not allowed in but sneaks in to find the Princess, who is Princess Peach. She gives a challenge, and if he passes, he gets to go with her on a quest to save his brother. After the whole day he doesn’t pass, but the Princess still lets him come with.

After they reach the Kong Kingdom, Mario is challenged to fight Donkey Kong, and if he wins they will get the Kong army to go defeat Bowser and save his brother. After taking a huge beating, Mario somehow wins and they earn the Kong army. They soon realize that Bowser is heading towards the Mushroom kingdom so they take a shortcut back to the Mushroom Kingdom.

On the way, Bowser intercepts them and most of their army can not move on because they break the rainbow road. Mario falls through the gap and we hope that he will be okay?

Without Mario, Princess Peach continues toward the Mushroom Kingdom. Finally, they face Bowser who just wants to marry Princess Peach, and Peach gives in to save her people. Out of nowhere Mario and Luigi come out and save the day! They defeat Bowser and push him through a portal to the mortal world. Then all of the humans see Mario and Luigi defeat Bowser.

At the end, Peach does not marry Bowser and they all reunite. They all talk with each other and the brothers' plumbing business takes off.

Overall I think that the Mario Movie was a great movie to watch for fans. I saw some easter eggs but they wouldn't mean that much to somebody who wasn't in love with Mario from the beginning. I loved the movie and would be very happy to watch it again, and I can say the same for everyone who saw it with me.
