Dodge Demon 170 Revealed

As the time ticks down on the remaining life of the muscle car, Dodge, a staple in the industry, has brought out one final vehicle for their "Last Call" series.
This series consisted of 7 special edition Dodge models built in limited numbers as a tribute to the muscle car. Dodge's last car in this series, the Demon 170, truly goes over-the-top compared to the other models, with 1,025 horsepower and 945 ft-lb of torque. This is way more than the original demon, which had 840 horsepower and 717 ft-lb of torque. One thing that these cars share, however, is that they are both purpose-built for drag racing. The regular Dodge Demon was already extremely fast, breaking the 10-second barrier with a quarter mile time of 9.65 seconds.

The Demon 170 on the other hand, is much, much faster. Coming in at a time of 8.91 seconds, this car has, like it's sibling, been banned by the NHRA. It is also the fastest production vehicle ever created, clocking in a 0-60 time of just 1.66 seconds, absolutely smashing the record previously held by the Pininfarina Battista of 1.79 seconds. Now let's talk about the engine. Dodge has changed nearly every component of the engine in the Demon 170, such as adding a much bigger 3.0 liter supercharger, the biggest supercharger ever fitted to a road car. So, you may be asking, how much does all of this cost? Well, unlike the comparable Rimac Nevera and the Pininfarina Battista, which cost nearly $2 million apiece, the Dodge Demon 170 costs less than $100,000.

Unfortunately, this beast will not be around forever as only 3,300 of them will be made. Overall, the Dodge Demon 170 is the perfect send-off to the amazing era of muscle cars.
