Music Streaming: Is There a Best Choice Out There?
Sofia Hutchens '24
There are so many music streaming services out there, and everyone seems to have a favorite. But what is the top choice? Let's take a look at some options.
First off, the #1 music streaming app used by millions: Spotify. With Spotify Premium, you have access to offline listening, can play over 60 million songs and podcasts, and receive recommendations from Spotify's AI. And don't forget the long-awaited Spotify "Wrapped" that comes out every year in December and shows everyone their top songs and artists that year!
Second on the list we have Apple Music. Apple Music is considered to be a great streaming service, right up there with Spotify. It is the same price and has many of the same features including making your own playlists and downloading music on-the-go. Apple Music also has an AI, though not as complex as Spotify's, to recommend you songs.
Finally, we have Amazon Music. The great thing about Amazon Music is that if you already pay for Amazon Prime, which many people do, you receive a free version of Amazon Music that allows you to play most songs and make your own playlists! The downside? Amazon Music doesn't really have the AI or the sheer amount of music that its competitors have.
After careful deliberation, the obvious choice here is Spotify. It seems to beat the other two comparisons in every aspect of music streaming. That being said, the service that works best for you might not be the one that works best for others. So whatever music streaming service you use, whether it be Spotify or just looking the songs up on YouTube, I hope you learned a little something so you can jam out to some great music at a great price for you!
