The St. Francis High School community would like to extend our condolences to the O'Sheafamily on the passing of Maureen O'Shea '67, sister of Mary O'Shea '66 Sax, Rita O'Shea '69 and Tom O'Shea '73.
Maureen Ann O'Shea, 75, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolf G. Katzenstein. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy (nee Rzeppa) O'Shea. She is survived by her siblings Tom (Lynn), Rita, Mary (Mike) O'Shea-Sax, Dorothy (John) O'Dwyer, Patricia (Don) Holmberg, John (Cindy Rendlen), Karen, and Dan (Faye), many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her sister-in-law, Dr. Anna-Luise Katzenstein, brother-in-law, Dr. Michael Mazur, and their children, Thomas (Xingni Chen) and Kristen (David) Allison. She also leaves behind (Maureen's and Rolf's) beloved dogs, Poppy and Lily. Maureen had a heart of gold, and her kindness was known by all who knew her. She has left us with many fond memories to cherish forever and she will be greatly missed. She and Rolf were longtime residents of Marietta. Funeral Mass for Maureen will be held at Catholic Church of St. Ann, 4905 Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11:00am, followed by inurnment Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 11:30am in the Columbarium next to her husband, Rolf, at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA (GA Hwy 20, Exit 16). Flowers are not permitted in church during Lent. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Maureen's name be made to IBVM Loretto Office of Development, PO Box 508, Wheaton, IL 60187 or to Catholic Church of St. Ann, 4905 Roswell Rd., Marietta, GA 30062.
