  • Young Hearts for Life®

     (YH4L) Cardiac Screening Program at St. Francis High School on March 21, 2019
    St. Francis High School has partnered with the Young Hearts for Life® Cardiac Screen Program in order to provide an opportunity for our students to receive a free heart screening known as an electrocardiogram (ECG). Please read the letter below from Dr. Marek, Founder and Medical Director.

    Science Department Hosts STEM Day; Microsoft Partnership Continues to Provide Opportunities

    On March 1, 2019, while DuPage County teachers were partaking in professional development opportunities and students had a free day, the St. Francis High School Science Department staff hosted nearly 100 junior high students in their second annual STEM Day.

  • Tax Credit Scholarship Program Applications Now Open

    The State of Illinois has created a new way to fund scholarships for children who choose to attend Catholic schools through the “Invest in Kids Act.” Scholarships offered through this program have the potential to cover up to 100 percent of tuition and eligible charges for the next school year at St. Francis High School. 
    The Empower Illinois Scholarship Granting Organization website ( is now operational and will be accepting applications for the 2019-2020 school year on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at 7 p.m.

  • Business Club Completes CapsimCore™ Simulation

    Recently, more than 30 junior and senior students in the Business Club, completed a business simulation competition led by the Business Department - Jeff Gerdeman ‘87, Mike Lynch ’77 and Joe Duffy - and Capsim, a company which offers experiential learning solutions to measure and develop the key skills needed to succeed in today’s business landscape.

    The St. Francis High School cheerleading teams begin the new school year with an invitation to participate in an exclusive event with the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) and a bid to compete in NCA’s Senior High School National Championship in Dallas.  Both opportunities present some exciting possibilities for the teams to work toward this year.

    The St. Francis High School community congratulates teacher and alum Jeff Gerdeman ’87 for recently winning the inaugural CapsimCoreTeacher Invitational Challenge.  This national challenge engaged 102 high-school level business educators as they competed in the CapsimCoreentry-level business simulation.
