St. Francis High School Celebrates Catholic Schools Week

February 1 - 8, St. Francis High School joined Catholic schools across the country to celebrate National Catholic Schools Week. The annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States entered its 47th anniversary spreading the message of Faith, Excellence, and Service.
The week featured special activities and events. Students partnered together in service by raising awareness for a variety of causes and gathering coloring books, workbooks, crayons, pens and pencils for children in local hospitals.

The excitement continued Thursday, February 4, as we welcomed Diocese of Joliet Bishop Ronald Hicks who visited St. Francis High School for Mass to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. With current COVID safety measures in place, the all-school Mass brought everyone together in faithful celebration. A livestream broadcast of Mass with Bishop Hicks allowed students, faculty, and staff to safely participate from their classrooms, while students off campus and the larger community tuned in from home.

The week ended with Spartan Olympics, an annual event where students from each graduating class compete in a variety of games. This year’s event was modified to a game show format and livestreamed to ensure safe participation while promoting the unique community connection the St. Francis High School is known for.
