At CES (Consumer Electronics Show) this year, BMW unveiled their new concept car. Last year they unveiled IX Flow, which can change from black to white to gray. This year, they showed the new version called I Vision DEE, which stands for Digital Emotional Experience. This shows a strong emotional connection between the car and its owner.
It is an electric sports sedan combined with E Ink Technology. This allows the car to change into 32 different color options. It's very cool and all, but still, why would anyone need this? What's the point of having a car that changes colors? If I owned the car, I would be too lazy to change the color before I drive it each time.
On top of that, the windshield can turn into a virtual reality screen and can project information on the windshield based on the driver's preference. This is referred to as the heads-up display. Again, this is very cool, but why would I need a car version of an Oculus? It has not been confirmed whether you can use it while the car is moving. This car is also rumored to have different facial expressions. For the last time, why does someone's car need to have different facial expressions?
This car is the type of supercar that I dreamed of as a kid, but just like everything else I wanted as a kid, it seems very impractical. This car will probably begin production in 2025 but may be delayed. This car is so different from all of BMW's other cars that it doesn't fit the motto "The Ultimate Driving Machine." On Twitter, other people and car companies are making fun of BMW because they think that this car is so absurd. Would you buy this car?
