Ray Michel

The St. Francis High School community would like to extend our condolences to the Michel and Kowalski families on the passing of Ray Michel, father of Patrick Michel, Chris Michel '87, Kate Michel '92 Kowalski and grandfather to Maddie Kowalski '21 and Gavin Kowalski '23
Raymond J. Michel, 77, of Naperville IL, passed away on Friday October 15, 2021. He was born on February 20, 1944, in Dixon IL, to Mildred (Gehant) and Raymond Michel.

Beloved husband of Cynthia nee Clark of 57 years. Adoring father to Patrick (Susan) Michel, Christopher (Ann) Michel, Kate (John) Kowalski. Dear grandfather of Ashley (Robert) Saylor, Evan Michel, Kevin Michel, Grace Michel, Ryan Michel, Madeline Kowalski, Gavin Kowalski, and Paige Kowalski.

He is also survived by adored cousin, Rose Ann Saylor. Ray grew up in West Brooklyn, IL, where he was raised by his maternal grandparents Rose and Frank Gehant. He graduated from Mendota High School in the class of 1962. Upon graduation, he went to work for the FBI while attending Strayer College in Washington DC, where he earned a degree in accounting. Ray worked for the FBI for 35 years as an agent and 15 years as a contractor. Ray loved to spend time with his family more than anything, and he especially cherished his time on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Friedrich Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL 60540. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Naperville IL on Tuesday October 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
