Ever dream of living in the Regency Era in England with the ballgowns, formal outings, dances, romance, etc.? Then, the perfect show to watch is Bridgerton!
Netflix released Bridgerton on December 25, 2020. The show follows the eight Bridgerton siblings and the ups and downs of their lives in the Regency Era. The siblings try to find love throughout the show but experience many obstacles along the way. For example, Daphne Bridgerton cannot find a possible suitor to get married to. In order to make herself seem more likeable, she begins a fake relationship with Simon, who is the Duke of Hastings, but he has no interest in finding love. Another challenge that causes problems for all the townspeople is the mysterious Lady Whistledown, narrated by Julie Andrews, who airs out the gossip of the town in a weekly pamphlet. Will the many challenges of chasing love, avoiding scandals, and adhering to the high standards of the time period allow the characters to find happiness?

Overall, I enjoyed Bridgerton very much. I loved watching the elaborate balls, formal dresses, and the elegant aesthetic of the time period. The show contained incredible acting and an intriguing storyline that made me want to keep watching. The concept of including the narration of Lady Whistledown spilling the gossip of the town reminded me of the show Gossip Girl, which I also enjoyed watching. I would recommend Bridgerton to mature audiences because it contains many intense and explicit scenes. Also, I would recommend it to those who enjoy watching shows from different eras because the show is set in the 1800s. Finally, those who enjoy romance would like Bridgerton because of the many relationships incorporated in the show.
