The St. Francis High School community would like to extend our condolences to the Leckelt family on the passing of Lora Leckelt '64. Sister of Patricia Leckelt '61 Werdell and Ronald Leckelt.
Lora L. Leckelt, 73, of Shirley, formerly of Englewood, Florida, passed away at 1:09 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2019 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
Lora was born January 4, 1946 in Chicago, the daughter of LeRoy J. and Lorraine E. Spielman Leckelt. They preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia Werdell of Shirley; a brother, Ronald (Mikii) Leckelt of Ham Lake, MN; six nieces and nephews, Debbie (Ricardo) Williams of Normal, James (Nicole) Werdell of Fishers, IN, William (Andi) Werdell of Northport, FL, Thomas Werdell of Normal, Kelliee (Courtney) Dawson of Blain, MN and Katie Leckelt; great nieces and nephews, Bobby Werdell, Zack Werdell, Cealy Werdell, Skyler Werdell, Britton Werdell, Carter Williams, Taylor Nelson, CJ Dawson, Cadance Dawson, Crosby Dawson, Stephanie Nelson, Joey Nelson and Sam Leckelt.
Lora was a registered nurse and loved her work. Throughout her 45-year career she had worked in the Emergency Room, Critical Care and even spent 3 years working in a 1200 cell county jail in Seattle, Washington.
Lora was an avid reader and sports fan. She loved the Chicago Cubs, professional football and spent countless hours on fantasy football. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
