Senior students are invited to participate in the four-day Kairos retreat, an opportunity to experience God’s friendship and enter “God’s time” together. The retreat is facilitated by a team of senior students and SFHS faculty members. It is held at the Carmelite Spiritual Center in Darien.
Kairos moments are treasured memories for many alumni, and we hope every senior will join us.
Students may choose a first or second semester option if they participate:
Junior students will participate in an overnight retreat experience with an opportunity to step back and reflect on how they encounter God and experience their faith. The retreat is led by our staff partners at LaSalle Manor and chaperoned by SFHS faculty and staff. It is held at the historic LaSalle Manor Retreat House in Plano.
The Junior Retreat is a Pastoral Ministry Department and Religion Department requirement.
Students will choose from one of four overnight options based on what works best with their curricular and co-curricular obligations. Options are:
Retreat 1: September 9-10, 2026
Retreat 2: October 6-7, 2026
Retreat 3: January 5-6, 2027
Retreat 4: February 22-23, 2027
Juniors attend homeroom, period 1, and period 2 before departing from SFHS at 9:30 a.m. on the first day of the retreat; they will return to school by 2:30 p.m. on the second day.
A registration link is sent to families of juniors so each student can choose the overnight option which works best for them. Each retreat is limited to 50 students (25 girls/25 boys). Students who do not register are assigned to the retreat with the most available space. The $225 Junior Retreat fee is billed through FACTS Tuition Management. If this fee is a concern for your family or if you have any other questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Michael Page, Director of Pastoral Ministry, at mpage@sfhscollegeprep.org.
Sophomore students will participate in a one-day service experience focusing on their spiritual growth as individuals and as a community. The retreat is led by a team of SFHS Student Ministers and Faculty. It is held at various partner organizations in the area during regular school hours. Bus transportation is provided.
The Sophomore Day of Service is a Pastoral Ministry Department and Religion Department requirement.
Freshman students will participate in a morning of activities to nurture relationships with their classmates and reflections to encourage peace within and among each other. This event is led by the Spartan Life Team in collaboration with the Ministry Department.
The Freshman Community Building Retreat is a Pastoral Ministry Department and Religion Department requirement.
Complete details about the Freshman Community Building Retreat and Freshman Day of Service is shared with students and families in September.

Each morning, students, faculty, and staff say “The Prayer of Saint Francis,” which offers us a chance to pause, pray, and reflect on who it is we are and what it is we are created to do. May the prayer show us a way to live today as it reflects the way Saint Francis once lived in the world. Please join SFHS Pastoral Ministry and the Student Ministry Team and pray with us!
