She helped develop and taught at the first Montessori program in Cincinnati Public Schools and went on to teach for 47 years. The majority of her career was spent at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in downtown Cincinnati. Her peers and students alike remember her for her skill in imparting a passion for history and English. Regina was still teaching as a substitute 7 years after retirement, even up to the day of her passing. Her incredible work ethic was admired by all.

Regina was the family historian with a passion for history and genealogy. Many summer trips with her daughters and siblings were to cemeteries, historical societies, and churches chasing down clues of family members' past. She started a tradition of decorating family graves with pinwheels.
