Noah M. ’25 Creates Bench for Pediatric Hospital

Noah M. ’25 recently completed his Eagle Scout Project as a member of Troop 202 in Lombard, which was an “I Spy” bench for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Edward Elmhurst Hospital in Naperville.

“I was inspired to take charge of this service project because one of my dear friends has multiple genetic disorders and receives his treatment there,” Noah said. “Another reason was that it supports the great cause of ACLP (Association of Child Life Professionals).”

The purpose of the "I Spy" bench is to give the nurses and doctors a place to take the vitals of the children without having to take them back to their rooms. This helps limit the disruption of play, making the kids happier and more receptive to future treatment. 

Noah said the part he enjoyed most was applying the stickers to the bench.

“The stickers were the focal point of the bench,” he said. “It was so enjoyable taking time with my friends to apply all the fun stickers.”

Collectively, Noah said he and his friends spent about 210 hours total working on the bench. Congratulations on your successful and impactful project, Noah!
