Bill Lapinskas '67

The St. Francis High School community would like to extend our condolences to the Lapinskas family on the passing of Bill Lapinskas '67.
BARK RIVER — William C. Lapinskas, 75, of Bark River, passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
He was born on August 16, 1948 in Chicago, Ill., son to Vito Allen and Jacqueline Pearl (Batastini) Lapinskas. Bill was raised in Villa Park, Ill. and graduated from St. Francis High School in Wheaton, Ill.
Bill served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1971.
On April 4, 1970, Bill married the former Cassie Ann Powers in Tacoma, Wash.
Bill and Cassie have resided in Bark River for the past 33 years.
Bill worked for the Canadian National Railroad until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his Harley and being with his family. Bill was a member of the American Legion Post 438 in Bark River and Lost Race Motorcycle Club in Wisconsin
Listed among survivors are his wife, Cassie; children, Teresa Jean Micksch and Amy Lynn Morin; grandchildren, Dennis James Lapinskas, Jack William Lapinskas, Brandon Anthony Micksch, Robert Louis Morin, and Cassie Lynn Micksch; great grandson, Vitali Isaac Micksch; and brother, James Louis Lapinskas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant grandson, William Michael Lapinskas; and brother, Raymond Lapinskas.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Monday, December 4 at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba, beginning at 12:30 p.m. until the time of military honors at 1 p.m. conducted by the Bark River American Legion Post and the funeral honor guard.
