Marie Therese Rizzo

The St. Francis High School community would like to extend our condolences to the Rizzo family on the passing of Marie Therese Rizzo, grandmother of Nicholas Rizzo '06.
GLEN ELLYN - Marie Therese Rizzo nee: O'Brien, 92, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 24, surrounded by her loving family. Born June 24, 1925 in Chicago, IL the eldest daughter of the late William and Marie O'Brien, dear sister of Raymond (the late Mary) O'Brien and Ginny (the late Al) Lipinski. Marie joins her late husband, John Rizzo, married for 43 years, celebrating their love together in eternity. She is survived by her loving children Kathy (Rudy) Soto, Karen (Bryan) Beth, Mary (Amy) Rizzo, John (Nancy) Rizzo, Billy (Catie) Rizzo, Linda Ferguson, Bobby (Audra) Rizzo. Caring grandmother of Laura (Jen), Jimmy, Dena (Joel), Bryan Jr., Kristin (Kevin), Joshua (Melisa), Keri (Aaron), Nick, Allie (Chris), Kyle, Lindsay, Zach, Luke, Emma and great grandson Atlas. Aunty Mimi to many nieces and nephews. Marie's life was the true embodiment of Faith, Family and Friends. She was a light and joy to everyone she met. Her infectious smile and loving ways touched many lives. Marie's gentle and inspiring spirit changed all our lives for the better.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 28th 2018 from 3-8 PM at Leonard Memorial Home (www.leonardmemorialhome.com/ 630-469-0032), 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, IL. Funeral mass will be held at St. Petronille Catholic Church, 420 Glenwood Ave., Glen Ellyn, IL on Monday, January 29th at 10 AM.
