SFHS Students Awarded in Sustainable Design Challenge

Krystal LaMantia
Last month DuPage County Stormwater Management and SCARCE (School & Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education) awarded the top prizes for this year’s 14th Annual Sustainable Design Challenge. The annual event, which was held virtually for the first time in its history, encourages students to construct building and landscape models using environmental and water-friendly design practices. Local professionals working in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields served as judges, evaluating the students’ designs, presentations and innovation. "Masreyrod Apartments" created by St. Francis High School students Tanya M. '21, Maggie B. '21 and Brigette P. '21, was awarded for Best Energy Efficiency Design!
