Mike is an educational leader with impactful business and community service track records, who is equally adept at business development, finance, and school leadership. His Catholic education has shaped who he is, how he thinks, and how he acts. Beginning with his faith-based educators at Joliet Catholic High School, Mike’s commitment to live faithfully, give generously, and lead responsibly has grown into a life-long dedication.
A Director of St. Francis High School since 2013, Mike is the Chair of the Board of Directors for 2020-2021. Mike’s service to SFHS includes the past year as Board Chair, two years as Vice-Chair of the Board, two years as Chair of the Institutional Advancement Committee, and four years as a member of the Education Committee. Mike’s long-time commitment to civic and academic endeavors includes active memberships in the CFA Society of Chicago, DuPage County Estate Planning Council, Order of Carmelites P.C.M. – Finance Commission, and Yale Alumni Schools Committee; as well as past leadership positions with the Yale Club of Chicago and Lewis University Council of Regents.
Mike is currently at DePaul University in the Office of Advancement, where he serves as Senior Director, Planned & Regional Giving. Previously, Mike was the Chief Investment Officer for First Community Financial Partners, a community bank holding company that was acquired by First Busey Corp in 2017. Additionally, he was a Founding Director, Organizer, and President of one of FCFP’s de novo banks. Earlier in his Wall Street career, Mike was the Senior Vice President of Institutional Investment Management for Brown Brothers Harriman in Chicago.
Academically, Mike earned his BA in Economics with honors from Yale University and is also a CFA Charter Holder. In 2016, Mike completed the Philanthropy and Non-Profit Management Program at Northwestern University and received his Fundraising Professional Certification. In 2016-17, Mike attended the Gateway Catholic School Leadership Academy sponsored by St. Louis University. In June 2018, Mike earned his Master’s Degree with distinction (MEd) in Educational Leadership with Catholic Concentration from DePaul University.
Mike, his wife Missy, and their daughter Maddie (SFHS Class of 2014 / UW Madison Class of 2018) reside in Wheaton and are members of St. Michael Parish.
