Bart has been a practicing attorney for over thirty years, working in the public sector as an Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney and as an Assistant Illinois Attorney General; and in the private sector as a partner in three Chicago law firms. In July 2007 Bart joined the law firm of Ice Miller LLP (DuPage and Chicago Offices) as a Partner and a member of its Litigation Practice Group.
Bart has served as President of the Greater IL Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In 1999 and 2000, Bart served as the Co-Chair for the Cystic Fibrosis Casino Fling, a major fundraiser for the organization. Bart also served as a member of the Saint Francis High School Ad Hoc Construction Committee in 2009-10. While his children participated in youth sports, Bart served on the board of Wheaton-Briarcliffe Youth Baseball and coached his children’s youth baseball and basketball teams.
Bart received his Juris Doctorate in 1981 from Loyola University of Chicago, School of Law. In 1978 he graduated from Saint Mary’s College, Winona, Minnesota with a B. A. in Computer Science.
Bart is married to Cecilia (Lilly) and they have four sons, Bart Jr. ‘07, John ‘09, James ‘10, and Kevin ‘14. Bart and Lilly reside in Wheaton and are members of St. Michael Parish.
