Congratulations to the following senior who was recently named as a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program.  Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2015 competition by taking the 2013 PSAT test. Our Commended Student for the Class of 2015 is Rachel Parisi

Choir Concert
7:00pm Tonight

The Music department invites you to the first Choir concert of the year! TONIGHT at 7:00pm, over 120 of our students will be performing and they would welcome your support!

Admission is free, but please bring a canned good to donate to the local food pantry.

Good Citizen Awards 

Congratulations to the following seniors who have been selected for our Good Citizen Awards. These students were nominated by the faculty and selected by a vote of the senior class. They are being honored for Character, Dependability, Leadership, Patriotism, Good Citizenship, and Service to School and Community. 

Receiving the most votes is Andrea Paolella who will receive the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award and continue in that scholarship competition. Receiving the second most votes is Franco Naccarato who will receive the Sons of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award.  
Reminder from the Dean
Tuesday, October 14, is the start of second quarter, shorts and athletic shoes are not permitted. Pants with uniform shoes for the males, and either slacks or skirts with uniform shoes for the females. Remember you represent the St. Francis community when wearing the uniform, on and off campus. 
Adventure Club
Adventure Club will be indoor rock climbing on Tuesday, October 21 after school.  Students must fill out a school permission form as well as a waiver from the climbing gym.  Please get both forms from Ms. Fairhead in room 1110.  The cost is $15 (cash only).

Now is the time to prepare for Graduation 2015

Thursday, October 9 during homeroom, an information assembly for all Seniors was conducted by Jostens. Seniors were given directions on how to order graduation announcements, caps and gowns. Please visit the Jostens' official website to review and fill out the order form.
Student Dismissal-October 15, 2014

Parents please plan to pick-up your child(ren) at the times listed below.

  • Freshmen-11:15 AM (approximately)
  • Sophomores-10:15 AM (approximately)
  • Juniors-10:45 AM (approximately)
Students waiting for rides or riders should wait in the LRC or Student Commons.Please note that students will not have access to other parts of the building. All other students are expected to leave campus when dismissed.

As we come to the end of the first quarter, it's time to start planning for this year's annual auction. If you volunteered to help or would like more information about our major fundraising event, please plan to attend this meeting.

  • Meet the Auction Co-Chairs and Committee chairs
  • Share your ideas and give suggestions
  • Learn how the success of the auction affects every St. Francis family

The auction goal is $250,000 which will help bridge the gap between the cost of tuition and the actual cost to educate each student. The number of volunteers directly impacts the success of the auction. Bring a friend and find out how you can help St. Francis High School achieve auction SUCCESS!

Feed My Starving Children
Saturday, October 18th from 9-11AM
The Feed My Starving Children serving event is quickly approaching! We have 10 spots remaining as of today and you will not want to miss this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many children in impoverished areas of the world! This is a great time to have fun daughter and/or son, make a difference and to get 2 service hours! The FMSC event is on Saturday, October 18th from 9-11AM at the FMSC Aurora location.
