Thank you Market Day Chairperson, Kathy Riendeau

This year's Market Day fundraiser raised a total of $4,886.03. These fundraising proceeds would not have been possible without the tireless work of Parent Org representative and Market Day Chairperson, Kathy Riendeau.  Thank you, Kathy, for your work this year to provide our programs with much needed additional funding.

Those of you that make purchases from Market Day, thank you for supporting this worthy fundraising initiative. Next year's dates will be published this summer.

Host Families Needed

Our International Program is in great need of host parents for the 2014-2015 school year.  We urge you and your family to consider housing a student for a 10 month stay. Our International Student Program has become a vital piece of our student's education here at St. Francis High School and we rely on supportive families just like yours. We have some very kind and talented students arriving for the upcoming school year who are still in need of a home.

Participating host families may be offered compensation of up to $1,000 per month to help cover the costs of room and board. St. Francis High School will also provide you with a dedicated support staff, host family training, regular meetings, and group activities for you and the student to connect with other participating families.

If you or someone you know may be interested in this unique experience, please contact the International Student Program Director, Matt Abernathy at mabernathy@sfhscollegeprep.org or  630-668-5800 x1140.

ACT Boot Camp

For students who plan to do ACT prep this summer, BenchPrep is offering their online ACT Boot Camp free to Illinois students.

For details contact jennifer@benchprep.com and to sign up go to http://goo.gl/smoxxE

Clean out your closets to benefit the St. Francis Scholarship fund!

It is time togather all of those outgrown or gently used (or
barely worn) uniforms and donate them to the Uniform Resale.  Collection bins are located around school (Main Office, Atrium and Spyglass). We will accept clean, gently used uniforms until June 12.  The uniform resale will be held during the book test on
June 17.

For questions or to volunteer at the resale, please contact Tami Martin, 630-307-0722 or tami.bosch@gmail.com

Deactivation of the Parent-Student Portal

In order for teachers to finalize their final semester averages, the Parent-Student Portal was deactivated on Tuesday, May 20 at 8:00 am.  On Wednesday, May 28 at 8:00 am, the Parent-Student Portal will be reactivated. Students are encouraged to check the portal Wednesday, May 28 and contact their teachers immediately if there is a grade discrepancy.  Once grades are verified, report cards will be printed and mailed. We estimate report cards will be mailed the week of June 2, 2014

Note from the Principal

Serena Harnack will be featured on WFMT 98.7 June 21, in a live broadcast from Evanston as part of the Make Music Chicago celebration. She will fiddle Orange Blossom Special. Congratulations to Serena once again.

LRC News

Thank you to Volunteers

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those mothers and fathers who took time from their families and busy schedules to help in the LRC during the 2013-14 school year. These moms and dads made sure that the library was able to remain open for our students until 5:00, Monday through Thursday, all year long.

Your time made the SFHS LRC a welcoming and attractive space for our students, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I would like the entire St. Francis community to help in thanking:
