Group Counseling Program Offerings for 2nd semester

The group-counseling program at St. Francis High School is designed to meet the needs of all of our students. When students experience difficult personal situations, they often find it hard to focus on their academics. Providing emotional support to these students, helps them not only with their life's challenges but also to focus more on their school work. Group sizes are limited and registration is required. If you feel your child might profit from one of these groups, please contact Mrs. Rupp at or 630/668 5800 ext 1104.

The groups being offered this semester are listed below.

I: Support Groups I & II: these groups are intended for students who are dealing with difficult situations in their families such as parents' divorce, family conflict etc... They are also intended for students who would like to work on personal issues such as depression, eating disorders, anxiety, social isolation, etc.

II Grief Group: this group is intended for students who have experienced a significant loss in their lives (death of a relative or friend,....).

III Girls Empowerment Group: this group focuses on topics such as stress management, self-esteem, girl's health issues and anything else that effects a girl's power. Group starts in February and will meet once a week for 6 weeks.

IV: Carpe Diem! Men's Group: this is a new group that will be led by Mr. Lindley. It will discuss issues such as organization of academic and personal life, friends, building self-esteem, family and dating relationships, and anything else that affects the lives of these young men.

Groups will begin in February and will meet once a week for 6 weeks. If you are interested in the Men's group, contact Mr. Lindley at or 630/668 5800 ext 1114.
