COLLEGE VISITS: Aquinas College, Benedictine University(IL) and Quincy University will be here today and University of Chicago will be here on Thursday.


Calling all guys and girls! St. Francis Cheerleading team try-outs will be held: Monday October 24th, 2016 from 5:30-7:30pm and Wednesday October 26th, 2016 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm in Slantdome both days. Please go to the school website to download a tryout application.


Attention all students: On Monday, October 24TH the Arts & Crafts Club and Culinary Club will put their creative minds together to make Halloween treats and SPOOKY crafts. Arts & Crafts members do NOT need to sign up. All other students DO NEED to sign up. Space is limited, so see Mrs. Holinger, Ms.

Fairhead or Mrs. Rupp as soon as possible to secure your spot.


Freshmen Retreat and Day of Service: Start 7:40 a.m. and finish approximately 12:30 p.m. Sophomores Pre-ACT: Start 7:40 a.m. and finish approximately 11:10 a.m. Juniors PSAT: Start 7:40 a.m. and finish approximately 11:40 a.m.


Sophomores and Juniors must bring their school ID's, an approved calculator, and two number two pencils with good erasers. Dress code is Out of Uniform. Students may park on campus without a parking permit but avoid teacher parking spaces. There is no need to park at Target.


Attention Seniors: If you are applying to a college that has a November 1 deadline, please turn in your transcript release forms for those school to Mrs. Rigney or Mr. Lindley’s mailbox in Guidance by Tuesday, October 18. If you are requesting teacher recommendations, you should have already contacted your teachers for those. Please follow the steps in the College Planning Guide to avoid delays in the processing of your documents.


Attention Seniors: Jostens will be at school on Thursday, October 20th for cap and gown and graduation orders during lunch periods, in the cafeteria.


Dance team winter try-outs will be this Thursday, October 20, from 3:15 to 5:15 pm in the Dance Studio. Anyone interested in trying out is welcome.


The second “Lunch & Lit” for Freshmen will take place a week from today, Thursday, Oct. 20th. The book we will be discussing is the “The Testing,” which tells the story of high-school students in a confusing, dystopian world.

Students should sign up in the library prior to their discussion and bring their lunch to the library on their discussion day.


The Sophomore, Junior and Senior “Lunch and Lit” will take place Thursday, Oct. 27th, as part of Red Ribbon Week. Students will discuss the timely book, “Girl in Pieces,” the story of Charlie as she tries to recover from years of cutting and the pitfalls she encounters on her way.

Students should sign up in the library prior to their discussion and bring their lunch to the library on their discussion day.
