Congratulations to Deanne Capinpin for successfully passing the 2014 Illinois State Achievement in Music Examination (AIM) for piano.
The Illinois Achievement in Music Program covers twelve levels of testing. These examinations are conducted in two parts: Music Theory test followed by a Technique and Performance examination. Required repertoire covers music from different periods. Coordinated technique, theory, sight reading, ear training, and music history compose the balance of the examination.
Over 3000 students participate each year in the state of Illinois. The Illinois AIM program has received national recognition from MTNA (Music Teachers National Association). Deanne participated in the West Suburban Chapter which held its examination at Wheaton College. The MTNA is the oldest music organization in the United States. It was established in 1876. It is the only national association that includes fields of applied music and related areas such as musicology, music theory, music therapy, opera, and composition.
Blessings to you and yours,
St. Francis High School

Finding Kind Week
Bullying Prevention Week (April 28 to May 2), St Francis HS celebrates "FINDING KIND WEEK"
As part of this year's Bullying Prevention week, St. Francis will offer several activities. This year's Prevention Week theme is "FINDING KIND". By being kind to one another students cannot only stop bullying, but can also contribute to preventing it from happening in the first place.
- Students will also be encouraged to sign a Kindness Pledge Poster in homeroom and commit to doing a specific act of kindness for another.
- In addition, they will write down a kindness that was done to them on a Kindness Card that will be displayed on the Kind Wall in the hallway.
- SADD invites students to a "Breakfast Club" breakfast in the Student Union from 7:15-7:35 AM. Watch clips of the iconic movie and enjoy some breakfast treats! First come, first served!
- During lunch time we will celebrate "Finding Kind at Lunch". Students will be encouraged to sit with someone new and reach out to others.
- SADD invites everyone to come and play "Capture the Flag" after school. Meet some new friends and feel like a kid again!
- Students are encouraged to do at least one random act of cyber-kindness when they log online before and after school as part of Cyberbully Awareness Day.
- After school students are encouraged to take time out for themselves and join
Ms. Pratscher immediately after school for Yoga.
- Wear Spirit and Pride St. Francis BLUE to show your commitment to kindness!
- Students are encouraged to participate in the "Pay It Forward Day" and take the "14 Day Kindness Challenge".
For more information on any of these activities, please contact Mrs. Rupp in the Guidance and Counseling Department at email@example.com.

Parents of Seniors
Please note that we will survey all seniors on Tuesday, April 29, for information on their college acceptances, attendance and scholarship awards. On Tuesday, April 29, all seniors should bring to school a list of all scholarships that he/she has been awarded, along with dollar amounts, even if the student is not attending that college or accepting the award. On that same day, seniors will complete a form requesting the final transcript be sent to his/her chosen college.
