Prom Dress Reminders

As you are shopping for your daughter's prom dress, remember to check whether she can sit, walk, and dance in the dress. The dress should be an age-appropriate length and cut; cutouts in the dress are not permitted. The dance is a lot more fun when the dress fits comfortably!

2014 Senior Institute Day

Thursday, April 24, is a very special day for our seniors. The day begins with the Transition Mass, followed by the Senior Institute Day. On Tuesday, April 15, all seniors will receive a brochure for the Senior Institute Workshops. It contains information about the different workshops offered during the day. Your child should follow the procedure outlined in the brochure.

Senior Institute registration information:

  • Online registration begins on Wednesday, April 16 and ends on Monday, April 21.
  • Institute Workshop and Session online registration links are accessible from the St. Francis High School home page.
  • All seniors must register for Workshop I: Safety On & Off Campus - Session 1, 2, 3, or 4.
NOTE: seniors should register for Workshop I first, and then register for their other workshops based on their remaining interest and availability in order to avoid "double-booking" multiple sessions in the same time slot. Each senior should register for one Session 1, one Session 2, one Session 3, and one Session 4 workshop accordingly.
  • All seniors must register for any three of the other six workshops for a total of four workshops. Note: Workshop 4: Women's Self-Defense is for females only.
  • Make sure to register for one workshop in each of the available time slots (10:45-11:30 session, 11:30-12:15 session, 12:45-1:30 session, and 1:30-2:15 session) - do NOT register for two workshops that are conducted at the same time.
  • If a senior inadvertently makes a mistake in the registration process, please e-mail Mr. Gerdeman at Please make sure that the e-mail includes all the pertinent information in order to resolve the problem accordingly.
  • As workshops/sessions close, the St. Francis High School Senior Institute web page will be updated.

Parents of Seniors

Please note that we will survey all seniors on Tuesday, April 29, for information on their college acceptances, attendance and scholarship awards.  On Tuesday, April 29, all seniors should bring to school a list of all scholarships that he/she has been awarded, along with dollar amounts, even if the student is not attending that college or accepting the award.  On that same day, seniors will complete a form requesting the final transcript be sent to his/her chosen college.
