The St. Francis High School Athletic Department is pleased to introduce two new coaches: Aretese Low - head coach of the Varsity Dance Team and Joe Lepsche - head coach of the Football Team..
Low has more than 16 years of experience as a dance educator. She currently owns LOVV The Dance Studio, across the street from St. Francis High School, and has been teaching dance in the Wheaton area for the past 8 years. Low has experience teaching at both dance schools and high schools across the country. She has also worked at the college level at the University of Minnesota Eau Claire with their dance team, as well as for the Minnesota Timberwolves Extreme Team by auditioning dancers and providing choreography.
Low is an award-winning dance choreographer whose dances get recognized each year at competitions both regionally and nationally. She has worked with many industry professionals such as O-Town and Joe Fatone of N*SYNC. She has performed on stage with The Monkees, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, The Beastie Boys, DJ Mix Master Mike, and artists of Darkchild Records – Bungalo/Universal and P-Diddy’s Bad Boy Entertainment.
Low’s other accomplishments include staging performances and creatively producing music videos for new artists, directing runway shows, being a principal dancer with the Minneapolis-based modern dance company “Vox Medusa”, choreographing/performing with the tap company “10 foot 5” in their production of “Buckets and Tap Shoes” and being a featured dancer in the production of “Scuff Marks” which was choreographed by Rhythmic Circus’ own Kaleena Miller.
“Aretese’s experience speaks for itself,” said Dan Hardwick, Athletic Director, St. Francis High School. “She is so full of energy and creativity. I’m really excited for the experience our dancers will be getting from her in the near future!”
Lepsche is in his tenth year of coaching with eight of these at the college level at Macalester College and the University of St. Thomas, both in St. Paul, Minnesota. Most recently, he served as the Offensive Line Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at St. Thomas. He was instrumental in coordinating all on-campus and off-campus recruiting, all program communications including website and social media, and the academic, career development and mentorship programs.
Lepsche has also helped guide the University of St. Thomas football team to an 87-14 record over the past eight seasons. He assisted with offensive game plans, specifically the offensive run game and protections that contributed to 516 yards per game and a 51.3 points per game average (ranks second in the nation).
Lepsche coached an offensive line that has included 11 All-Americans and three Remington Award winners. As recruiting coordinator, he recruited athletes from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Florida.
“I am very excited to get Joe on board as our next head football coach,” said Dan Hardwick, Athletic Director, St. Francis High School. “Not only does he really know football, but as the recruiting coordinator at his college, he obviously will make those connections with our young people that is so important in today’s athletics. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season!”
