Congratulations to seniors, Theo Lamperis, Christian Lang, Colin Lang and John Vargyas, from St. Francis High School’s Consumer Education class, who recently won the Stock Market Game Worldwide, a program sponsored by Northern Illinois University.  This is the fourth time St. Francis High School students have won this simulation, among more than 1,000 teams participating each year.

With an initial investment of $150,000, they made a total gain of more than $50,000 - the highest gain ever for St. Francis High School teams.  The rewards for their winning efforts include a day in Chicago with their teacher, Mike Lynch ’77.  They will visit the Chicago Board of Options Exchange, The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and a trading room.  They will also have lunch with Martin Cabrera Jr., President of Cabrera Capital Markets and world-renowned trader from Chicago.  Mr. Cabrera participated in this same simulation when he was in high school.
