Because St. Francis High School’s academic year ends before Memorial Day, this year’s Spring Band Concert will honor veterans a little early.  On April 28, band students will perform their concert, “An American Tribute” to honor veterans from each branch of the armed forces.

The concert’s focus will be on music from 1776 to the present, featuring American favorites such as “The Star Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful,” as well as some readings of poems and speeches set to music.  Before the evening concludes, the band will play the music for each branch of service, as they ask veterans to stand and be recognized.

This event is free, open to the public and anyone can attend.  The concert will begin at 7:00pm in the St. Francis High School Kuhn Cultural Arts Center at 2130 W. Roosevelt Road in Wheaton, and will last approximately an hour and 15 minutes.
