Sarah Huddleston '13 was recently named "Woman of the Year" by the Freshman Leadership Program at Creighton University. The Freshman Leadership program is a national program that provides educational, service and leadership opportunities to its members in order to help develop strong leaders.
Sponsored by the freshman class, Sarah was also asked to represent Creighton University at the National Jesuit Leadership Conference in July at Boston College. Throughout this five-day conference, there are various educational, social, and service and reflection opportunities offered to help educate the "whole person" and prepare students for their leadership roles.
The members of Creighton University's Freshman Leadership Program only award Woman/Man of the Year to one female and one male student each year. Likewise, they only send one female and one male student to represent them at the National Jesuit Leadership Conference each year. Congratulations to Sarah for both honors!
Karen Coley-Huddleston, Sarah's mom, was very appreciative of the "tools" - education and experience - that Sarah received here at St. Francis High School. She said Sarah "entered college with such a positive attitude and faith-based desire to serve." Karen also feels blessed to be part of the SFHS family and believes "SFHS sends out wonderful gifts to the world when we graduate our seniors. We should feel good about this next generation and what four years at St. Francis does to help build that value system."
